Official note from Michael Cleveland:

"My name is Michael Cleveland and i was the drummer for Sarcasm. The details are a little bit fuzzy but here's how I remember it happening. I was roommates with a guy named Todd Sumners at ISU in the Towers dorms. Todd was from Des Moines and knew Jason Rupe and Tom Meehan and told me they were also at Iowa State and starting a hardcore band. There was another guy named Todd (can't remember his last name) from Ames who played guitar. We practiced at some room in the basement of one of the Towers for a couple of months and had our first real show at a place called Riffs in Des Moines where this recording was made. I think it was a Sunday afternoon show, either late 1985 or early 1986. We played a few more shows in Spring 1986, including a set at the ISU Springfest later that spring where we gathered lots of "attention" from the audience, which didn't really know how to react to a hardcore band. I left for summer vacation and Jason and Tom went on to form Shamrock Shakes and Total Passover."
